VIURRSpace guidelines

This guide provides guidelines for depositing research in RRU's institutional repository.

Research outputs

The repository is meant to preserve and showcase institutional research and scholarship appropriate for permanent retention, including but not limited to theses and dissertations, published journal articles and book chapters, books, conference papers, reports, videos and films, and photography. The repository does not generally preserve items such as research data or code, course syllabi, learning objects and lesson plans, or other ephemeral materials. Please contact us for assistance with managing research data.

Deposit formats

VIURRSpace accepts many file formats. The likelihood of successful long-term preservation of content is much higher when file formats are platform-independent, non-proprietary, not compressed, and not encrypted. The Library may migrate formats to allow for the long-term preservation of the item in VIURRSpace. Currently, the most common file formats in VIURRSpace are text documents (e.g. PDF, .doc), raster image, audio, and video. If you are unsure as to what format may be most suitable for deposit, please contact us
