VIURRSpace guidelines

This guide provides guidelines for depositing research in RRU's institutional repository.

VIURRSpace Non-Exclusive Distribution License

For your work(s) to be distributed and preserved via VIURRSpace, Royal Roads University’s institutional repository, authors must agree to the terms of this Non-Exclusive Distribution License by confirming that you have read and agreed to this Non-Exclusive Distribution License, and by granting permission for RRU Library staff to deposit your work in VIURRSpace and select 'I Grant the License(s)' during the submission process in VIURRSpace on your behalf.

By indicating that you agree with the terms outlined in this license, you (the author(s) and/or copyright holder(s)) grant to Royal Roads University Library, on the terms set out below, the royalty-free non-exclusive right to make the work available for permanent archiving and public access through VIURRSpace. This license will cover this particular submission and all future submissions you make to VIURRSpace. Canadian copyright law applies to all submissions.

You agree that RRU may, without changing the content, translate the submission to any medium or format for preservation.

You also agree that RRU may keep more than one copy of this submission for purposes of security, back-up and preservation. You represent that the submission is your original work and that you have the right to grant the rights contained in this license.

You also represent that your submission does not, to the best of your knowledge, infringe upon anyone's copyright. If the submission contains material for which you do not hold copyright, you represent that you have obtained the unrestricted permission of the copyright owner to grant RRU the rights required by this license, and that such third-party owned material is identified and acknowledged within the text or content of the submission.  If the work is a thesis, different usage rights may apply as specified during the submission process.

If the submission is based upon work that has been sponsored or supported by an agency or organization other than RRU, you represent that you have fulfilled any right of review or other obligations required by such contract or agreement.

RRU will identify your name(s) as the author(s) or owner(s) of the submission, and will not make any alteration, other than as allowed by this license, to your submission.

RRU Library will make a digital copy of your submission available in VIURRSpace for the public to view for non-commercial purposes only, without prior permission or charge, including citing the author(s), title and full bibliographic details.

Submissions in VIURRSpace are licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 2.5 Canada License unless otherwise indicated. By indicating that you agree with the terms outlined in this license, the author(s) and/or copyright holder maintains the copyright for the work but allows others to reproduce and distribute the work non-commercially, provided they give due credit, and license the new work under the same Creative Commons Attribution Non-Commercial Share Alike 2.5 Canada license. If you wish to assign different license terms to your submission (e.g., a different Creative Commons license), you must inform RRU Library as part of the submission process to VIURRSpace, and the terms of that license shall apply to your submission.
