What makes an argument convincing?

DecorativeStrong or convincing arguments demonstrate the author's thinking about the topic to the intended audience, typically within body paragraphs. You can find more information in this guide about having a clearly-stated claim, supporting the claim with relevant and reliable evidence, and concluding with some analysis that helps the audience understand what the writer thinks is important or significant about the claim: what we often call the "So what?"
