RRU food bank

Decorative image: Photo of food bank cabinet in the basement of the Sequoia BuildingThe Food Bank is a Student Services' initiative that serves our most vulnerable students on campus. If you need some short-term help to get by, please visit the Food Bank - no judgment, just support.

The Food Bank is not meant to replace a forgotten lunch or fully feed a student for the school year, but aims to help out during short-term times of need.

You can find the Food Bank at the base of the central staircase in the Sequoia Building, Colwood Campus, and it's available Monday-Friday 8am to 6 pm. The Food Bank is closed on Saturdays and Sundays.  Please ask for the cabinet key from the Welcome Desk on the first floor of the Sequoia Building.

Donations

Students leaving residency donate the primary supply of non-perishable food (e.g., pasta, rice, canned goods, snacks) and hygiene products to the Food Bank. Food is collected via bins located in residency lounges by our custodial staff and delivered to the Sequoia Building. Several times a year, depending on demand and funding available, Financial Aid & Awards staff will stock the shelves with food purchased at Costco and other wholesale shops.

Donations of non-perishable food or cash for the Financial Aid & Awards shopping trip are gratefully accepted at the Library.

For longer-term needs or if you have questions, please contact the Financial Aid & Awards team.
