Changing Database Interface Languages

You can change the search engine language and help tips in
many of the databases.  On this page you'll find directions for the
major players in our collection. 

Proquest databases

To change the  interface language choose from the dropdown list. English is the default. Select Let browser choose if you want ProQuest to detect where you are accessing the Internet from, and change the interface language accordingly.

Important to know: You can also change the interface language by clicking the current language selection, displayed as a link, in the toolbar at the top right of ProQuest pages. Click the link to display the Change language popup offering a list of available languages.


Google Scholar

 Click on settings located at the top of GoogleScholar homepage to choose language.

Ebscohost databases


 Changing the Language of the  Ebscohost Interface

You can change the interface text of EBSCOhost from English to one of the following languages: Arabic, Bahasa Indonesian, Brazilian Portuguese, Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hewbrew, Hungarian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Persian, Polish, Romanian, Russian, Simlified Chines, Slovenian, Spanish, Swedish, Thai, Traditional Chinese,  and Turkish.

The language selection feature is located on top toolbar of the Preferences Screen in EBSCOhost.

To change the language of the interface:

  1. Hover your pointer over Language on the top toolbar on the interface.
    The drop-down menu of available languages appears.

  2. Select by clicking on the desired language in the list.
    The interface is refreshed and translated into the selected language.

You can set your default language to any of the languages listed above, and the next time you sign in to My EBSCOhost, the screens will display in your selected language.

To set a default language preference:

  1. Sign in to My EBSCOhost.

  2. From your search screen or Result List, click the Preferences link that appears below the Find field.

  3. In the General Settings area, select your language from the drop-down list

  4. Click Save.
