Copyright Information for Thesis and Dissertation Publication: Major Projects

This guide provides information to help students comply with Canadian copyright law when publishing their thesis or dissertation

Major Projects

If your Major Project has been selected for inclusion on DSpace, you will need to obtain permission to reproduce any copyrighted material that you have included in it. Please review the information in the Copyright Guide for Thesis and Dissertation Publication, while keeping in mind the following differences:

  • Major Projects published on DSpace are considered to be Non-Commercial works, not Commercial works.
  • Please use the RRU Copyright Letter for Major Projects when seeking copyright permission.
  • Your Major Project will be forwarded to the library for publication by your dean, so do not follow the publication instructions for theses.
